FISHERIES STAKEHOLDER SPECIALIST

Our client is one of the key investors in offshore wind in Poland now building their first project in the Baltic Sea.

For their stakeholder management team, we are now looking for a Fisheries Stakeholder Specialist to support the relationship with fishermen communities and fisheries. The role can be based in Gdynia, Władysławowo, Gdańsk, Sopot or Warsaw for a period of 3 years under a B2B contract.

The Fisheries Stakeholder Specialist will support the Stakeholder Manager in delivering effective engagement with fisheries stakeholders throughout the offshore construction phase of the project. The role is focused on building and maintaining constructive relationships with fishermen and fisheries organisations, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, supporting communication related to project implementation, and assisting with the stakeholder-facing aspects of the fisheries compensation process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with fisheries stakeholders, including fishermen and fisheries organisations operating within and around the project area.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for fisheries stakeholders and support the Stakeholder Manager in maintaining effective communication with the fisheries sector.
  • Plan, organise and coordinate meetings, consultations and information sessions with fisheries stakeholders, including all related logistics, documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Communicate project updates relevant to the fisheries sector, including offshore construction activities, project progress, planned marine operations and navigation restrictions.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and communication activities related to the fisheries compensation process in cooperation with external service providers.
  • Collect, document and communicate stakeholder feedback, concerns and enquiries to the Stakeholder Manager and relevant internal project teams.
  • Cooperate closely with offshore package managers and other internal functions to ensure timely and consistent communication within the organization, with regards to fisheries stakeholders.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement records and prepare regular reports summarising stakeholder activities, key issues and recommended follow-up actions.

Expected background and experience:

  • Good understanding of the fisheries sector, including its structure, key stakeholders, and the economic and social context of the industry.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, public relations, community relations or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in the fisheries or maritime sector would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in Polish and a good command of English (minimum B2 level) are required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the project area.
  • Driving licence cat. B
