BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Core Functions

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a PPA Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential PPA opportunities that align with our energy objectives. Additionally, you will develop and implement strategies to secure new PPA contracts and expand our PPA pipeline.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be necessary as you analyze market trends, assess risk, and develop pricing models. You will be responsible for negotiating and executing PPA contracts with customers, including commercial and industrial energy consumers. To accomplish this, you will need to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry organizations, and the energy regulatory office.

As a PPA Business Development Manager, you will be expected to keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulations related to energy markets and PPAs. Analyzing and reporting on PPA performance, including financial metrics and customer satisfaction, will also be required. Collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and management of PPA contracts will be crucial to your success in this role. Representing our company at industry conferences and events to raise the profile of our PPA offerings will be part of your responsibilities.

 

Experience

 To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the energy industry with a focus on PPAs or B2B energy sales.

You must possess a strong understanding of energy markets, including trends, pricing models, and regulatory frameworks. Experience negotiating and closing complex PPA deals with customers and stakeholders is also required. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences, will be necessary.

A proven track record of meeting or exceeding business development targets and KPIs is highly desirable. You should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate financial and technical data to make informed business decisions, are a must. The ability to travel as required and an entrepreneurial attitude and experience in a start-up environment is preferred.
