Our client is a key player in renewable energy markets worldwide and one of the key players in renewable energy in Chile, selling products and services for large utility scale projects. The Sales Engineers listen to our customers and understand their technical concerns and challenges so that they can provide all needed information and can propose fit-for-purpose solutions. In the Sales team they are responsible for all technical topics related to our products and services and are closely connected to our Global Engineering. As Technical Sales Engineer in Global Sales Engineering you make sure that all Sales Engineers in the field have the right technical information available to support our customers and you ensure a close cooperation with our Global Engineering and Product Strategy and Management.

Your tasks:

  • Assume the responsibility for one or more technical areas and become the “expert” contact for our local Sales Engineers to go to;
  • Share your experience and knowledge in the team and make sure that the local Sales Engineers are trained and pass the right message on to our business partners;
  • Develop, implement and improve standards, tools and processes on a global level to facilitate the daily business of your colleagues in the different markets;
  • Support your colleagues in our subsidiaries to prepare technical proposals and to negotiate them in complex contracts with our customers and their technical advisers;
  • Follow one or more of our key accounts and make sure that we have a full understanding of their technical needs and guide our local Sales Engineers accordingly;
  • Make sure that technical and commercial market feedback is collected and consolidated and feed it back into our product development;
  • Identify risks and opportunities in early phase and develop adequate mitigation measures;
  • Report achievements, risks and challenges on regular basis;
  • Be actively involved in Health, Safety & Environmental aspects

Your profile:

Ideally, you should hold a degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Power systems, and have the following or similar experience and qualifications:

  • Experience in both Sales and Engineering of machinery or investment goods is an asset;
  • Knowledge about turbines, power engineering, transmission, SCADA systems and / or Cyber Security is a clear asset;
  • Experience in wind energy and/or other renewable energies is an advantage;
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
  • Fluent Spanish; very good English communication skills in speaking and writing;
  • Ready to work in a dynamic environment;
  • Self-driven, proactive and process-oriented working style, with sufficient flexibility to cover the unforeseen;
  • Ability to deal and work with other cultures and technical areas hand in hand to find the best solutions;
  • Ready to travel from time to time within the country or abroad.
