Task description

The operation of a wind turbine requires high demands on automation technology. A special aspect here is the functional safety of the wind turbine. To be able to work well in a team on this complex task, good knowledge of the processes for developing safety-related software is required.


  • New and further development of control technology functions in the area of operational control of the wind turbine
  • Analysis of the wind turbine systems to define requirements for the SRASW
  • Planning and implementation of software function according to requirements for the safety controller
  • Definition of processes in the safety software environment
  • Definition of test and acceptance criteria for the qualification of the wind turbine software
  • Coordination of automated HiL tests for sustainable quality assurance.
  • Validation of the safety related software through code reviews, software tests on the HiL setup and on site at the wind turbine
  • Creation and review of the related software documentation
  • Close cooperation with various departments in an international environment


Profile of requirements

  • Successfully completed technical degree in electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in PLC software development according to IEC61131
  • Experiences in safety- related software development are required
  • Experiences in defining requirements for software functions are required
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office and especially MS-Access
  • Experiences in the agile software development according SCRUM are preferable
  • Fluent in English
  • High results orientation and quality awareness
  • Initiative as well as responsible, structured and sustainable way of working
  • Teamwork and communication skills
