QUALITY COORDINATOR

Our client an international investor in offshore wind energy currently expanding its Quality team for a project developed in Poland and looking for a Quality Coordinator to join their team on a B2B contract.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, in support of the Interface Manager, and working with all teams and departments, the Quality Coordinator will oversee a team of specialists and support the main investor in technical aspects related to welding, coating, and corrosion protection. The role will ensure strict quality control and adherence to project standards through comprehensive inspection planning and auditing.

You will be responsible for the quality and technical approach taken by Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors at sites, ensuring it’s in line with the company strategy and Quality management system.

Support the main investor’s HSSEQ Department on the Project in the development and implementation of the HSSEQ management system according to ISO standards requirements.

Coordinate the quality assurance and reporting processes and the lessons learned sharing among the quality team and Project sites.

Deliver excellence and continual improvement in the quality area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Specialists: Lead and manage a team of Quality Leads and Inspectors, ensuring that all technical and quality control activities align with project requirements, especially in welding, coating, and corrosion protection.
  • Technical Support to the Main Investor: Provide expert guidance in the technical areas of welding, coating applications, and corrosion control to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Quality Assurance Coordination: Design, implement, and oversee quality assurance processes, including the creation and review of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control plans tailored to the specific needs of the project.
  • Audits and Control Plans: Conduct comprehensive audits and inspections, monitor the implementation of control plans, and ensure that corrective actions are properly executed and documented.
  • Documentation and Compliance Management: Ensure accurate record-keeping and seamless documentation flow between the quality team, certification authorities, and project stakeholders.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • Professional/ academic qualification associated to Quality management and/or suitable degree in Engineering or technical or relevant discipline and specific quality studies and/or demonstrable experience of managing all aspects of quality.
  • Formal and valid qualified inspectors training in relevant quality assurance area.
  • A recognized ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification (CQI/IRCA membership will be an added value).
  • Full offshore GWO BST valid certificates would be a nice to have.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in engineering or a related technical field, with qualifications in quality management (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred).
  • Experience: Ideally 8 years in a senior quality role, with specific expertise in welding, coating, and corrosion control within large-scale projects, preferably in offshore wind or the energy sector.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with advanced knowledge of quality assurance processes and inspection techniques.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Polish is required.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Engineering and technology knowledge from an engineering or energy industry.
  • Advanced knowledge in producing and driving procedural documents
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools, such as ISO 9001, FMEA, Statistical Process Control and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge on how to apply quality methodologies through development of the quality related process to support the project.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the energy sector.
  • A recognized ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification.

  • PMP or Prince 2 (Not mandatory but beneficial).
  • Project Management.
  • Contract management. (Not mandatory but beneficial).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders on all levels.
  • Strong computer literacy skills. Skilled in Excel, Visio, Microsoft Project, Word and PowerPoint.

LANGUAGES

The project has an international team of employees, and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English and in Polish both spoken and written. Other languages will be highly valued.
