HEAD OF FINANCE AND CONTROLS

Ocean Winds is one of the largest offshore wind investor in the world with rapidly developing projects in Poland. We are now looking for an experienced financial professional to lead the finance and control team in the role of Head of Finance and Control.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Project Director, the Head of Finance and Controls is accountable for accurate reporting of financial results, managing the company’s financial and governance affairs.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES IN THIS ROLE INCLUDE
•The Head of Finance is responsible for the effectiveness of the Accounting, Financial Planning, Local Tax, Controls team with overall responsibility for financial assurance, statutory reporting and effective financial service across the project. •The Headof Finance will be the catalyst for positive change in the company with drive, strategic focus and setting a meaningful vision for the project to work towards, in an autonomous role able to bring credibility and trust to the role and complement a successful team through strategic focus.•The Head of Finance will be 'hands on’ enjoying the variety the role presents across finance and across the business wide agenda, creating synergies across wider teams and the finance function. It will be responsible for leading budget setting and monitoring including long term financial strategy forecasts and Financial reporting to the Senior Management or Board of Directors. It will support and develop a finance team, providing direction, enhancing capabilities and wider skills so that the function can evolve business partnering capabilities. Change, process improvement and leadership experience are essential for this role to make an impact.•The Head of Finance will have a line reporting to the Project Director and will functionally report to the OW Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will play a lead role in preparation and presentation of relevant information for the Board of Directors and any other project stakeholders, develop relationships with budget holders and ensure that the Finance Team will deliver value to budget holders and package managers in a constructive manner.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND Degree in Finance or Economics. MBA will be valued.
LANGUAGES English and Polish essential.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
10 years of experience, of which ideally 2-3 years in a similar role
KNOWLEDGE
•Proven track record of effective economic financial management exposures and experience working closely with executive managers;•Excellent understanding of economic financial month-end closing process and used to deal with complex accounting interfaces and interconnected reporting systems;•Used to work under high level of pressure and able to take decisions and capable to propose compromises within the team in alignment with the company goals, meeting the deadlines by delivering an outstanding quality level product in a transparent and coordinated manner;•End-to-end thinking orientation;•Excellent planning skills and forward-looking mindset;•SAP experience and an understanding of project financing would be a plus.•Experience in Project planning tools such as Primavera or equivalentis a plus
SKILLS•Excellent communication skills.•Strong interpersonal skills. •Ability to easily identify and resolve problems•Develops a general overview and understanding of projects.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Location in Warsaw,Poland but travelling may be required.
