WTG PACKAGE MANAGER

Our client is one of the largest players in the offshore sector and we are now looking for WTG Package Manager.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The WTG Package Manager is responsible for leading the technical aspects of the WTG contract packages for the project, through development, contracting and execution

He or she will also provide support to other areas (like electrical system design, structural design, ports, installation, etc. ) and ensure the project in compliant with the relevant regulation both at industry and local level and engaged with stakeholders.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountability for the technical analysis and definition of the work packages, the delivery of the

WTG package, being responsible for the optimal design and construction to ensure that the wind farms

have the maximum reliability, quality and safety in accordance with applicable standards (e.g. the

Grid Code), legislation, ethics, and good practices across the offshore wind farms industry, tender requirements, regulatory aspects and project policies

Responsible for preparing, elaborating and providing all the specifications and technical documentation to allow Project’s engagement with the correspondent subcontractors and to evaluate the suppliers, with the intention of guaranteeing the correct application, bidding, construction and operation, ensuring that the determining factors established by the Permitting department, Environmental and other departments are met.

In close collaboration with the procurement department, participates in negotiation of package related contracts leading on technical and execution aspect, and ensures a solid relationship with key suppliers across the construction services supply chain

Provides technical support to other areas of the technical department and other departments as necessary across the project lifecycle to ensure the successful completion of the project; Ensure the correct coordination of interfaces with other Project working packages, guaranteeing the quality of the input/output on time, ensuring the correct management of package and project documentation is performed.

Maintain an effective and systematic planning and control of project delivery (in what concerns cost, deadline, quality and safety); Ensuring control of the budget, deadlines and quality aspect, as well as assessment of contractors/subcontractors involved in the project.

Development and management of risk management plans of the related packages as part of an overall project risk management strategy.

Produce monthly project reports outlining progress and budget as required by project management.

Provide lessons learned on the projects and participate in wider company knowledge groups with peers across projects contributing to the application of synergies across the group

Foster collaboration and teamwork with the corporate areas facilitating the efficiency in works related to the Project and alignment with company practices and avoiding duplication of task.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Master Degree in Electrical Engineering

LANGUAGES

The project has an international team of employees and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written.
Polish will be will be highly valued.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

At least 8 years’ experience in WTG technology and contracting. Experience in a senior project delivery role in the offshore wind sector is essential. Contractual negotiation experience.

Planning, costs and weather modelling and quantitative analysis capabilities.

Experience of the Polish regulation is desiderable Engineering cost-benefit analysis.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of wind turbines design/study/analysis processes from a client point of view is essential.

Specific knowledge of the standards associated with WTGs supply, installation and commissioning.

Direct experience and specific knowledge of the design, construction and commissioning of electrical transmission assets and offshore cables is essential.

Specific knowledge of electrical and Scada aspects of wind turbine technology is desirable.

Knowledge of the latest legislation and guidance of the management of health and safety is also required.

Ability to communicate across all levels of the project team and to support (and manage where required) the relationship with external stakeholders.

Proactive to identify and resolve problems, and to find optimizations and improvements.

A pro-active approach to project and contract management in order to identify risks and opportunities early and initiate appropriate actions.

Capability to lead, negotiate with suppliers and engage with stakeholders. Ability to work within approved budgets and under deadline pressure. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Location in Warsaw, but travelling to supplier’s facilities and offices, local construction ports and constructions sites may be required.
