COUNTRY MANAGER POLAND (WIND ENERGY)

Our client is one of the leading providers of products and also services within the wind sector, with over 30 years of experience in the wind industry. For their team in Poland we are now looking for a Country Manager with strong sales and business development experience. The purpose of the position is to ensure the smooth and successful execution of all the company’s Sales activities and other customer facing functions (Project Management and Service) in the area and leadership of the organization in Poland in accordance with company goals, objectives and core values, such as integrity, colleagueship, respect and ownership.

MAIN OBLIGATIONS:

In headline terms work with the Head of Eastern Europe Region & New Markets to achieve an optimal balance in the following work split:

  • HSE (line-) accountability for all operations in the country with support by Regional and Global HSE organization
  • Legal representation of the legal entity in Poland
  • Day to day operations of the business with P&L (Profit and Loss) responsibilities at the company.
  • Planning and strategic development of the business (turbine sale, turbine installation and after-sales-service) and ensuring of further profitable growth in the countries under his responsibility in cooperation with both Head of Eastern Europe Region & New Markets and the function managers
  • Executing disciplinary responsibility for all employees in Poland
  • Development, motivation and growth of local management team in a matrix organization
  • Personally lead the sales activities to increase growth of the Group companies in the countries under his responsibility through the development of key account customer relationships in cooperation with the Head of Eastern Europe Region & New Markets
  • Project execution of current order back log and installation of turbines to ensure profitability and satisfaction of the customers supported by Regional and Global Project Management
  • Consolidated financial statements on a monthly basis according to the company’s  worldwide-accounting-practice in cooperation with the central Finance organization in the HQ (headquarters).

SALES FOCUSED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Disseminating sales targets and ensure achievement of the targets.
  • Develop, set and control targets for the local sales organisation
  • Drive special sales initiatives (Deep Dive, etc.)
  • Management of the internal sales process and hand-over to the project execution department
  • Coordinate enquires from Key Account customers
  • Support customers in understanding, defining and documenting their requirements in the process of developing solutions to support their business
  • Analysis of offer scope and calculation
  • Carry out a risk evaluation of the projects
  • Preparation of commercial offers and more complex tender proposals
  • In an optimal case: Negotiation of proposals and complex contracts with our customers until the final contract closing supported by the extended sales team
  • Ensure efficient use of the sales tools (CRM, sales calculation, Gate process, LOA documents etc.)
  • Coordination with related departments during sales and/or tender process
  • Provide leadership, recruit, manage, train, develop and evaluate a highly motivated team sales employees, with a solid education and the desire to deliver high quality working results.
  • Frequent travel in Poland and abroad is part of the job

CAREER JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Work experience in a leader function of minimum five years within the sales area of machinery or investment goods and with work experience in sales to utilities and other institutional investors as well as B2B in Polish Energy Market
  • Experience in a general management role with previous P&L responsibility

EDUCATION:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a degree of economics, legal or mechanical/electrical engineering; A Master’s degree would be an asset.
  • Native Polish speaker with fluent English;
  • Knowledge of alternative energy solutions and regulatory framework
  • Experience with project finance and cash flow modelling is an advantage
  • Understanding of project accounting as well as financial control of multi-million EUR projects
  • Basic knowledge of machinery supply contracts and experience in public procurement tenders
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding sales targets
  • Familiarity with technical concepts
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products, exposure to CRM desirable
