Our client is one of the key players in the offshore wind sector. For their Asset Management team we are now searching for a Commercial Asset Manager who will be responsible for the commercial performance of the asset through its operational lifetime, including:
· Supporting the Managing Director in developing and delivering business plans.
· Developing and delivering a trading strategy.
· Managing project offtake and agreements.
· Management of key stakeholder relationships
· Optimising performance of the asset.
· Minimising exposure to commercial risks
- Support in developing and delivering short and long terms business plans covering aspects including operating budgets and asset performance.
- Monitor performance of the asset against defined key performance indicators.
- Develop, implement and continually refine a commercial operation and trading strategy for the asset covering aspects including compliance with offtake agreements and participation in balancing mechanism and ancillary service markets with a view to ensuring value is maximised.
- Develop and implement commercial asset management governance through management systems and processes.
- Manage the project’s Contract for Difference, ensuring compliance with all associated obligations/requirements through its term.
- Manage offtake agreements, insurances and other commercial contracts associated with the asset.
- Ensure that all necessary registrations, accreditations and authorisations are in place in order to allow the asset to generate in compliance with relevant law and regulation.
- Working with the Senior O&M Manager, ensure that all data flows and operational forecasts from the asset that are necessary to support commercial operations are established and maintained.
- Working with the Head of Finance, ensure the settlement process is clearly understood by the asset management organisation and implemented in management systems.
- Support the Head of Finance in ensuring that robust financial management and planning is in place including liaison with and reporting to shareholders’ and lenders’ representatives as required.
- Prior to handover with the asset, interface regularly with the project construction team to ensure a smooth and successful asset handover including proactive management of trading and other commercial asset management aspects during the commissioning phase.
- Ensure regular reporting is provided to the project’s shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders where required.
- Monitor and react to relevant regulatory developments.
LANGUAGES
The project has an international team of employees and the working language is English.
Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. Other languages will be highly valued.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in asset management of large power generation infrastructure is required.
- Experience in asset management in the offshore wind sector is preferred.
- Experience of working in a joint venture structure, managing relationships with a board that consist of multiple shareholders, is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrable knowledge in all of the following areas is required:
- The Polish energy market and in particular the key aspects of regulation that are relevant to transmission-connected generation.
- Project finance environments.
Knowledge of the following areas is desirable:
- The offshore transmission regulatory regime.
- The core technical characteristics of offshore wind farm generation equipment.
- Establishment and implementation of business management systems and processes.
SKILLS
A self-starter with commercial acumen and a proactive approach to value creation, identification of risks and opportunities early and initiation of appropriate actions. Ability to communicate across all levels of the business and to support (and manage where required) the relationship with external stakeholders.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Location in Warsaw but regular travel to the O&M base location and to other stakeholders’ offices and will be required.
